A lasting impression is just as important as the first, and as our till operator we need you to make sure our customers leave happy, looking forward to their next visit. You will be confident interacting with the public, have good attention to detail, and work well with our team to give our customers the very best experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
Serving customers at the till & on the shop floor
Greet customers with a smile & use eye contact, always paying full attention to the customer
Advise customers on our products, and help them to find the right one for them - you will be helping customers to shop for garden furniture, solar lighting and gifts alongside our core gardening products
Approach & guide customers through the sales experience
Checking off deliveries & stocking up the shelves when required
Your Skills & Experience
Previous customer service experience
Experienced & comfortable approaching customers and making a sale on our big ticket items
Merchandising experience would be helpful but not a requirement
Customer focused at all times - you're able to prioritise and organise your workload to put the customer first
Garden Centre industry experience would be a bonus, but not essential
We ask all our staff to work one weekend day and busy Bank Holidays, however we do close the Garden Centre between Christmas and New Year to allow our staff to spend quality time with their families. You will complete a 12 week trial period with regular appraisals before this becomes a permanent position.
