As a Till Operator at Mole Avon Country Store, you will be the friendly face that provides excellent customer service at the point of sale. You will handle transactions efficiently, assist with customer enquiries, and help maintain the smooth day-to-day running of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate tills and handle all payment transactions accurately (cash, card, account sales).
Welcome customers and provide a friendly, helpful service at the checkout.
Maintain a clean and organised till area.
Process refunds, exchanges, and account queries following store policies.
Assist with product enquiries and direct customers to appropriate departments or staff.
Ensure pricing is accurate and report any discrepancies.
Support with restocking shelves and merchandising when tills are quiet.
Follow all company procedures for till security and cash handling.
Uphold health and safety and hygiene standards in the store environment.
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous retail or cashier experience preferred but not essential - training will be provided.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic numeracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work well under pressure and during busy periods.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Knowledge or interest in agriculture, rural life, or countryside products is a plus.
Working Hours:
Must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays as required by the store rota.
