We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machining equipment to produce high-quality components for the finest wood floors. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical processes. The Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring precision and efficiency in our production processes, particularly in timber manufacture and component assembly
Responsibilities
Operate machining equipment such as saws, planers, sanders and laser
Capability to read job sheets and interpret production drawings
Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during fabrication and repair processes
Prepare tooling and fixtures for production runs, ensuring proper setup and calibration
Apply basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and adhere to safety standards
Requirements
Proven experience in machining operations in a timber workshop preferred
Mechanical knowledge of machinery maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and tooling preparation
Strong understanding of basic maths principles relevant to measurements and calculations in manufacturing
Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and technical drawings
Relevant forklift ticket is preferred
