Job Description

We're seeking a

Time-Served (Competent) Wood Machinist

to join our production team in a training and mentoring capacity.

This role would ideally suit a semi-retired or experienced individual who enjoys sharing their knowledge and wants to stay hands-on in the workshop environment, without the demands of a full-time production role.

You'll play a key part in developing the skills of our team, ensuring the safe and efficient use of woodworking machinery including saws, planers, moulders, and CNC equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide practical training and guidance to factory staff on safe machine operation. Support in the induction and competency assessment of new employees. Promote a strong Health & Safety culture throughout the workshop. Assist in reviewing and maintaining safe systems of work and training records. Share best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

About You

Time-served, fully competent Wood Machinist with extensive industry experience. Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery and HSE regulations. Passionate about training, mentoring, and developing others. Good communication skills and a patient, supportive attitude. Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently
