Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining a safe and organised yard environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse operations, mechanical tasks, and logistics management within a dynamic setting.

Duties

Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts Assist with the organisation and tidiness of the yard area to ensure safety and efficiency Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and stock levels Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and placement according to safety standards Support shipping and receiving activities, preparing goods for dispatch or receipt Perform basic mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or repairs Assist with construction-related tasks as required, including site preparation or minor repairs Conduct regular safety checks of equipment and yard environment to identify potential hazards Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and productivity Operate a timber treatment plant

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks Experience operating forklifts and/or side loaders is advantageous Knowledge of warehouse management systems is beneficial Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Good organisational skills with attention to safety protocols Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
