Who we are:
Tiny Toes Ballet is an award-winning dance programme for little ones aged from 6 months to 6 years, fully integrated with the EYFS curriculum where children 'learn through dance'. We opened our Cambridge franchise in September 2018, and have 3 teachers delivering classes to a total of around 250 pupils per week so far. We have waiting lists and we desperately need one or two more teachers as soon as possible. Essential hours: 8.30am - 1.30pm on Saturdays, additional hours potentially (but not essential) on Friday mornings.
Job description:
We need people to deliver tiny toes ballet classes, following our methods and syllabus, teaching children the basics of ballet, as well as nurturing their physical, cognitive, social and emotional development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
You will train for 4-8 weeks, depending on your level of experience and ability.
Training involves assisting an experienced teacher at classes on Saturdays which you will eventually teach yourself.
You will start teaching individual exercises and then full classes yourself, within a couple of weeks of starting, with the support and guidance of the experienced teacher. You will be provided with written materials to study, to help you understand our system, and help you pass the assessment at the end of your training.
The training period (before passing the teaching assessment) is paid at 13 per hour
After you have qualified you will have full responsibility for teaching the Saturday morning classes yourself, and you will have an assistant (aged 16-18) working with you. At this stage your pay increases to 22 / hr.
There are Level 2 and Level 3 teacher qualifications you can work towards after you have built further experience teaching, and achieving these qualifications will increase your pay further, potentially up to 30 / hr after at least 6 months' teaching experience.
