The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:




We are seeking a detail-orientated Tool setter to join our precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate building of tooling assemblies to technical drawings, ensuring tools are correctly set and loaded into CNC machines, and installing Balluff identification chips for tool tracking and data management.

Main responsibilities:




Tool Assembly:

Build and assemble cutting tool setups according to detailed engineering drawings and specifications.

Tool Loading & Setup:

Set up and load tool assemblies accurately into CNC machines, ensuring alignment with production requirements and machining programs.

Balluff Chip Installation:

Fit and program Balluff RFID chips into tooling systems for automated tool identification, tracking, and wear monitoring.

Tool Inspection & Verification:

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, gauges, tool presetters) to verify tool dimensions, runout, and compliance with setup specifications.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with CNC machinists, programmers, and engineers to ensure optimal tool performance and production efficiency.

Tool Maintenance:

Monitor and maintain tool condition, replace worn or damaged components, and perform basic tool servicing as required.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow company health and safety standards, and ensure all work complies with manufacturing quality systems and procedures.

Managing reordering process to ensure no shortages:

Monitoring stock levels in the vending system

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a tool setting or CNC machining environment. Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and tool schematics. Competence in fitting and configuring Balluff (or similar) RFID chips in tooling systems. Familiarity with basic CNC machine operations Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications:



Formal engineering or machining qualification preferable but not essential Experience using tool presetters and measuring equipment. Knowledge of automated tool tracking and tool life monitoring systems.
