Counter Sales Assistant

T.H. Wiggans Ironmongery Ltd is a well-established, family-owned hardware business, proudly serving the local area since 1976. We supply architectural ironmongery, general hardware, and consumables to local tradespeople and the general public.

We are currently looking for a

Counter Sales Assistant

to join our friendly team. This role involves working on the trade counter and phones, serving trade account customers and the general public.

The position also includes a shared local delivery driving role. Full training will be provided.

The Role

Serving customers face-to-face at the trade counter and over the telephone General office duties, including administration Processing sales and assisting customers on the shop floor Placing orders with suppliers Actively checking deliveries, stock transfers, and incoming goods

Shared responsibility for local deliveries (driving required)

Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-organised shop environment Ensuring all customers receive a high level of customer service
What We're Looking For

Previous face-to-face sales experience is desirable but not essential

Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential

A team player who can also work confidently using their own initiative Good organisational and basic administrative skills Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy Strong customer service skills PC literate

Clean driving licence (essential due to shared delivery driving duties)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

7:30am - 4:30pm

Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
