This is a dual-role position combining warehouse operations with front-line customer service and trade counter sales. We're looking for a motivated and dependable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting customers at the trade counter with enquiries and securing orders
Making proactive sales calls to generate business
Managing stock levels and placing orders as needed
Planning and coordinating daily delivery schedules
Ensuring efficient operations of Goods In, Goods Out, Returns, and Stock Control
Picking and loading vehicles accurately for customer deliveries
Unloading supplier deliveries
General stock control, including daily stock checks and stocktaking
Coordinating internal branch transfers
Supporting warehouse functions and stepping in to pick orders when needed
Helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse
Assisting with deliveries when required
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous sales or trade counter experience (builders' merchant or DIY background preferred)
Warehouse experience and understanding of stock control processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills
Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
Forklift experience preferred (training can be provided)
Driving licence preferred
Computer literacy and comfort with using stock systems
