ExxonMobil has operated in the U.K. for more than 135 years. We are best known today for the marketing of our Esso fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants and for our petrochemicals. We have refining and chemical operations in the UK, we operate the UK\'s biggest private pipeline network. and we retain a non-operated share in a number of fields in the North Sea. More recently, we are developing our involvement in lower emission projects in the UK, building on our experience in carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen production and biofuels.

We are continuing to expand our LPG trading business which is part of our global trading organization. To further capitalize on commercial insights, we are rapidly building our trading, origination & analytical capabilities to capture new inter- and intra-regional opportunities. We are looking for passionate individuals with an entrepreneurial mind-set to drive change in our business.

The current opportunity is for an experienced LPG Trader to join our LPG Trading team, based in London.

What role will you play in our team

If successful you will be an integral part of our Global LPG Trading Team, developing trading strategies that manage the flexibility and increase the value of our assets and portfolio positions. You will act as a key interface to the European market, owning physical and derivative trading strategies. You will also work closely with our colleagues in Operations, Risk, Analytics and Origination.

What you will do

  • Trading, hedging and optimizing our European and international LPG assets, while managing positions within desk-allocated Risk Limits.
  • Driving collaboration across our cross-regional NGL/LPG value chains, including petrochemicals
  • Taking a proactive role in business development; seeking out and evaluating market tenders to capture new business
  • Collaborating with and coaching our analytics teams to continuously improve trading applications and fundamental analysis
  • Ensuring trading activity is in compliance with internal risk governance policies/procedures and is accurately captured in trade reporting infrastructure (i.e. position reporting, trade booking & settlement)
About you
  • Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline e.g. Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics (or relevant work experience underpinned by strong P&L performance)
  • Have previous trading experience, focused predominantly on: Evaluating, optimizing and trading physical and derivative NGL/LPG and naphtha positions, preferably in multiple geographic regions
  • Have a track record of positive P&L and possess a deep understanding of exposure and risk management
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to establish broker/asset contacts to generate new business opportunities
  • Have strong commercial acumen, an entrepreneurial mind-set, analytical/IT skills, and take accountability for your results and contributions to the team
  • Possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a multi-cultural, cross-regional team environment
  • Have fluent English language skills (written and spoken), with additional language skills being an advantage
