We have an exciting role for a Trainee Accountant in our Clacton on Sea office to start in June / July 2025.



A fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start your career in accountancy, joining an apprenticeship scheme, you will be working towards an internationally recognised accountancy qualification (AAT Level 2, 3 and 4 with the chance to continue studies further) and gaining valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm.


You will join a dynamic accounts team with a high-quality client base and rapidly gain responsibility whilst at the same time completing your accounting qualification with us.


You will learn about the preparation of financial accounts, interpretation of financial data and accounting and tax legislation. Equally as importantly you will learn how to work effectively in a team, how to build strong and lasting professional relationships and also how to deliver exceptional client service. This is a diverse role and you need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and have a willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities of a

Trainee Accountant

will include:

assisting the team with accounts preparation preparing management accounts bookkeeping for clients preparing tax computations for internal tax department review clearing tax and manager reviews liaising with clients on accounts and tax queries as required assisting with office administrative tasks

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

minimum of Grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English at GCSE (level 7 in Maths and English preferable) and relevant A Levels grade C and above excellent communication skills and able to build relationships good attitude willing to succeed previous excel experience would be preferable but not essential interested in progressing within an accountancy practice good analytical skills strong organisational skills
