We are a privately-owned accountancy practice based in Glossop Town Centre, supporting clients across a wide range of industries. As the practice continues to grow, we are looking for a Trainee Accountant to join our team.
The Role
The position involves supporting the team with day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. You will gradually take on more responsibility as your skills develop, with full training provided throughout.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with bookkeeping and data entry
Helping prepare VAT returns and basic accounts
Maintaining organised client records and documentation
Communicating with clients by phone and email in a professional manner
Learning to use accounting software and internal systems
General administrative support as required
Required Skills & Attributes
GCSE Maths Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
GCSE English Language Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
Good computer literacy
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, organised and able to prioritise tasks
Genuine interest in developing a career in accountancy
Desirable Skills & Experience
Part-qualified or currently studying AAT
Previous office or administrative experience
Confidence working with numbers or spreadsheets
Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles
Familiarity with accounting or finance software
