Trainee Accountant

As

Trainee Accountant

you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting for the group and its businesses. Whilst gaining accountancy qualifications with full study support.

Key responsibilities



Supporting the monthly management accounting and analysis processes and internal reporting packs Supporting annual statutory reporting and statutory audit process Supporting with quarterly regulatory returns including solvency II and other industry regulatory reports Participating in the research and implementation of changes to accounting standards and business processes Monthly cash and investment reconciliations Monthly and quarterly performance reporting, financial analysis, commentary and dashboards Support preparation of annual corporation tax returns including tax analysis Provision of support to the wider Business Accounting team Ad hoc project work and support for other areas of the business Intention to develop career through experience and training, including professional accounting qualifications

Knowledge, skills and experience



A Levels or equivalent in a numerate subject or in a discipline that demonstrates your analytical skills A track record of success and achievement in education, work experiences or extra-curricular activities/volunteering to date. We are looking for a demonstration of where you have taken on extra responsibility, delivered in challenging circumstances and shown your ability to work independently as well as in a team Strong numerical ability Analytical skills and critical reasoning Highly effective communication (both in writing and verbally) and organisation skills Propensity to learn and apply learning in the workplace Effective planning and prioritisation skills - balancing multiple deliverables to agreed quality standards Strong relationship building skills and the ability to lead teams Proficient IT skills in MS Office and Excel
