What we're looking for:



As we continue to grow our business, an opening has arisen in our accounts team for an Accounts Assistant to join our practice. The ideal candidate will be looking to take an early, foundational step in their career, with a firm that can provide a broad and solid grounding in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will enjoy a varied and challenging role and will be provided with full training leading to a professional accountancy qualification. This role would be ideal for a recent school leaver or college graduate who is passionate about launching a career in accountancy.

Main Responsibilities:



Preparing of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies Preparing of regular management reporting Preparing of corporate and business tax computations Providing bookkeeping support, including cloud accounting Managing workload to ensure deadlines are met, whilst always maintaining a high level of service Maintaining regular client contact, both face-to-face and by telephone/email Assisting with implementing, training and supporting clients on Xero or Quickbooks Online

Requirements:



Strong academic credentials, particularly in Maths and English Demonstrable experience of and aptitude with a variety of software applications. At a minimum, this will include the core applications within the Microsoft Office 365 suite. Previous experience of analysing, interrogating and formatting datasets in Excel would be a distinct advantage Previous experience of working with Quickbooks Online and / or Xero for clients would be advantageous Ability to work on your own initiative and manage your time and workload effectively Confidence in communicating and interacting effectively with people, both within our team and across your client portfolio Strong time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail A genuine desire to learn from others and a willingness to undertake further study as part of your career development at JMT
