Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee or Junior Afternoon Tea Chef to join our award-winning team. This position is perfect for someone wishing to develop their skills and progress their career. As a Trainee Afternoon Tea Chef, you will develop your culinary skills in a very busy environment under the guidance of experienced chefs.

There is scope for personal and career development and the salary will reflect the experience and skills of the successful candidate.

he successful candidate will:

Assist in preparing and presenting a variety of afternoon tea offerings, including sandwiches, savouries, pastries, and desserts Support the kitchen team with food production and food handling to ensure quality standards are met Learn and adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations across all kitchen activities Prepare and present afternoon teas for either the train or the bus tours to the highest of standards. Support shift management duties by maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen areas Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods.

Passion for culinary arts, hospitality, and exemplary presentation of meals Enthusiasm to learn is key Basic knowledge of food safety standards and handling procedures Familiarity with food production, cooking techniques, and commercial kitchen operations Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure during busy service times Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
