Maxchips:

A Richard Maxwell LTD brand is a large scale biomass and renewable energy, specialising in providing heat to poultry applications and generating electric via ORC units and solar power.

Consisting of 20 full time, part time & work placement staff, we are a fast growing business with fantastic growth and development opportunities.
Alongside the renewable energy sector, we run a woodchip production, drying and sales team, and a wood fuels range, including firelighters, kindling, logs, briquettes and so on.

The Job:

We are actively seeking a trained, or untrained engineer to help keep our boilers running. Working alongside the service and Engineering manager, you will shadow them and learn the systems we have in place here.

Daily jobs can including changing motors, re-lighting boilers, changing augers, servicing machines and so on.

We will provide in-work training on each of the site boilers. These systems are in-depth and take a good understanding, so you must be passionate and willing to learn.

Facilities & Location:

Maxchips (Thirsk Yard) is located on Skipton Old Airfield, near Thirsk. We have a safe on site car park. Modern heated welfare cabin features air fryers and so on for lunch. On site toilets, company vehicles and so on.

Staff uniforms are provided, for this job includes a hi-vis hoodie, hi-vis overalls, steel toe cap boots. All HSE equipment is of course provided also.

Hours:

Typical hours are Mon - Friday 8am - 5pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

You are required to work x1 weekend a month on night time call out. These hours are paid at standard rate. Given this, living local to our yard would be very advantageous.

Pay dependant on past experience.
