We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef/ trainee Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production. Duties include leading the kitchen staff during the Head Chef's absence, guiding and supervising the junior kitchen staff during food preparation and assisting the Head Chef in menu preparation
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of food preparation and cooking within the kitchen.
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences.
Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication to deliver high-quality dishes.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste through efficient food production practices.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering their culinary skills and professional development.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Skills
Proficient in food preparation techniques, with a solid understanding of various cooking methods.
Strong leadership abilities to motivate and manage a diverse kitchen team effectively.
Excellent organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
Knowledge of culinary arts, including menu planning, presentation, and food safety standards.
Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
