Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Trainee Contracts Engineer
to join our growing team. This entry-level role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fire protection industry, working closely with experienced engineers to support project delivery from design through to installation and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning and coordination of fire sprinkler installation projects.
Support senior engineers in preparing project documentation including technical submittals, schedules, and reports.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of contracts.
Monitor project progress and provide updates to internal teams.
Attend site meetings and assist with site inspections and surveys.
Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety regulations and industry standards.
Learn and apply applicable codes and standards (e.g., BS EN 12845, NFPA, LPC Rules).
Maintain accurate project records and assist with cost tracking and invoicing.
Requirements:
Strong interest in fire protection systems and engineering.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational and time management abilities.
Willingness to learn and develop technical and commercial skills.
Full UK driving license.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit is advantageous but not necessary.
A background in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field is not necessary but would be advantageous.
