Over 200 employees and radar experts build the strong team of smartmicro. Most of our staff work at the German headquarters in Braunschweig, while international offices are located in UK, US, Canada, and China.

An opportunity has arisen within smartmicro UK to join us as a Trainee Engineer based out of our offices in Waterloville, Hampshire. You will be assisting with offsite installations, technical support, faults, repairs, and maintenance nationwide.

Main roles and responsibilities (will include but not restricted to):



Become a member of our first-line engineering and delivery team, responding to and resolving customer queries from our broad range of clients. Assist with project delivery tasks, including the delivery and commissioning of equipment both in the workshop and on site. Learn a broad range of technology-based skills, including core infrastructure, enduser devices, networking, cloud platforms and other technologies. Platforms covered include Microsoft, Google, and Linux devices and software. Assisting engineers on installation and maintenance work. Problem solving both before and during installation. Ensuring that during on site project work customer requirements are met wherever feasible. You will be responsible for maintaining a good standard of work and working within the required method statements for specific tasks. Being aware of health & safety risks in and around your work area for yourself and others. Any other duties as required to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the business.

Essential



Full driving license (3 points max).

Eligibility to work in the UK.

Additional Advantageous skills (not essential):



Previous experience with engineering/installation works. ITS/Highways/Traffic management experience. Familiarity with engineering software tools and programs. Programming skills. CSCS/ECS card holder. IPAF 1B, 3A, 3B. Experience with power tools and hand tools. Electrical/electronic engineering qualification. Computer science/IT qualification.

Salary



24,000 - 28,000 per year depending on experience.

Working hours



Generally, 8:30am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am-4pm Friday, with some out of hours working required.

Overtime paid for any hours worked outside of normal working hours.

Company van and tools will be provided.

Pay: 12.21-14.26 per hour
