As a
Trainee Estimator
, youll work closely with our experienced estimating team to prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions for a variety of construction projects. Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
Support senior estimators with quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Maintain estimating databases, cost records, and project files.
Attend site visits (as required) to collect relevant data.
Learn company estimating software, systems, and methods.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
Genuine interest in construction, quantity surveying, or estimating.
Strong numerical and analytical ability.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
Desirable:
ONC/HNC, BTEC, or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or working towards).
Some work experience in a construction or estimating environment.
Familiarity with estimating software such as Causeway or ConQuest.

to support our pre-construction and estimating teams. Youll provide accurate site data, measurements, and cut-and-fill calculations that inform feasibility studies, tenders, and early-stage project planning.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys precision, analysis, and problem-solving in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Calculate cut-and-fill volumes and assist in earthworks planning.
Support estimators with quantity take-offs and cost inputs.
Interpret drawings, site plans, and specifications to provide reliable data.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support bids.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and estimators.
Identify potential site constraints and contribute to risk assessments.
Maintain accurate measurement and project records.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
Technical knowledge in construction, civil engineering, or surveying.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
