Located in field territory in either North or South London (and surrounding areas)
with Academy training once a week in Sidcup.
About us
Spy Alarms are one of the largest privately-owned installers of security systems in the Southeast. We have more than 75,000 customers - both domestic and commercial - throughout London and the southeast. In 2024 we won the Security and Fire Excellence Awards for our training.
Job Overview
Due to our continued success and growth, we are creating a new intake of Trainee Fire Alarm Engineers to join our Training Academy in July 2025. This is a fantastic, paid, on the job learning opportunity that will enable you to achieve the training and qualifications required to work as an engineer to install, maintain and service fire alarm systems.
About you
You should have 2-3 years' post-education work experience, great communication skills, practical aptitude and enthusiasm. If you have some experience relevant to electrical work, fire detection or security alarms that is a bonus, but as important, will be your aptitude, willingness to learn and resilience to apply yourself to the training and work.
You must have a full manual driving license for this position as you will be training to work in a field-based role, shadowing an experienced Engineer, either from South or North London and surrounding areas. The location will depend on where you live in the southeast. Once a week you will be trained in our Academy in Sidcup. The training takes 6 months and culminates in a BTEC Level 3 qualification in relevant disciplines. Please note: Once trained, there is a requirement to undertake some out of hours call outs, for which overtime is paid.

In return, you have the chance to work for a successful growing NSI gold and BAFE approved company with a great reputation and knowledge of CCTV, Access Control and Fire and Intruder Alarms.
