Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation and a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship. As a Floor Layer, you will be responsible for laying various types of flooring materials, ensuring that each installation meets our high standards of quality and durability.

Duties

Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately. Install various types of flooring, including laminate, vinyl, carpet, and hardwood. Prepare surfaces for installation by cleaning, sanding, or applying adhesives as necessary. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure precise installation. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during the installation process. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to ensure seamless project completion. Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the installation process. Conduct final inspections of completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Floor Layer or similar role in the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to flooring installation. Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints is essential. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks associated with flooring installation. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Previous experience in carpentry or painting is considered an asset but not essential.
