Job Description

The Role:

To help promote a positive Health & Safety culture throughout the business, with particular emphasis on Capital Projects; actively promote Health and Safety systems and provide Health & Safety activity support to the Health & Safety Manager. You will be mentored by the Health and Safety Manager to ensure you are successful in the position

Main Responsibilities:

Undertake safety inspections of construction sites / projects to ensure company safety policies and procedures are being followed

Provide assistance to business managers to carry out and review risk assessments

To advise business managers on safe procedures and safe systems of work where necessary

Assist in the identification of health and safety training needs and source appropriate training

Assist in the production of accident and workplace statistics and analysing trends

Undertake projects that may benefit Health and Safety compliance within the business

Assist the Health & Safety Manager to investigate accidents and report to the Health and Safety Executive as required

To undertake any duties which from time to time may be required by the Health and Safety Manager or Company Directors

Qualifications:

IOSH / NEBOSH (or working towards) - desirable / willing to achieve

Relevant training qualification, i.e. Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent) - desirable / willing to achieve

Understanding of Health & Safety in construction, including CDM2015

The ability to juggle a range of tasks / issues simultaneously

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator at all levels, have good organisational skills and will champion cultural and behavioural changes across the company
