Role Objective
As a Trainee Installation Engineer, you will learn how to install, maintain, and repair our secondary glazing systems on commercial projects across the UK.
This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone with no previous experience who is practical, motivated, and eager to learn a skilled trade. You will work alongside experienced engineers and receive full training to develop your technical skills, safety awareness, and customer service abilities.
The role requires flexibility, regular UK travel, and weekly hotel stays.
Key Tasks (Full Training Provided)
Installation
Assist with the installation of secondary glazing systems
Learn correct alignment, sealing, and operation of glazing units
Work with materials such as aluminium and glass
Support site preparation, set-up, and clean-down
Maintenance
Learn how to carry out routine inspections and maintenance
Assist with adjusting, lubricating, and replacing components
Identify potential issues and report them to senior engineers
Repair
Support diagnosis and troubleshooting of glazing issues
Assist with repairing or replacing glass, frames, seals, locks, and hinges
Help with temporary fixes and follow-up visits where required
Customer Service
Communicate professionally with clients and site contacts
Learn how to explain works being carried out clearly and politely
Ensure work areas are left clean and tidy
Provide basic aftercare advice under supervision
Documentation & Safety
Assist with completing job paperwork and reports
Learn and follow all Health & Safety procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies and site rules
