Redplug Blown Insulation Ltd specialises in blowing stone wool insulation and remedial cavity fire barriers, to help with thermal, fire spreading, and soundproofing insulation problems across England and Wales.

We're expanding our installation team due to growth in our remedial cavity fire barrier department. Our technicians travel throughout England and Wales and we're looking for trainee installers who can fulfil the following criteria:

Essential



Experience in the construction industry/an understanding of construction or a trades background is strongly preferred Must be able to be flexible on busier days and be available for overnight stays where jobs require longer driving distances (overnights are always in reputable hotels and are fully paid) A full driving licence with no more than 3 points Confident communicator who is comfortable liaising with customers Experience of maintaining an organised workshop and commercial vehicle Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy track record

Desirable



Experience working in the fire safety or remedial fire barrier sector (not essential as training can be provided)

What the job entails:

The Trainee Installation Technician will be a key member of the company's installation team and will train as an Installation Technician, undertaking all aspects of the blown remedial cavity fire barrier installation cycle for both domestic and commercial projects across the UK, as required by the business.

Core Responsibilities:



Practical Installation - train to carry out the following duties under the supervision of the Lead Installation Technician and the Director of Operations:



? Undertake all duties in accordance with the Company's training programme

? Undertake all aspects of the blown insulation installation cycle

? Check the jobs calendar on a daily basis to plan for upcoming installations

? Conduct surveys at both domestic and commercial sites, as required

? Prior to use, check all equipment e.g., ladders, harnesses etc. is fit for use

? Check and load materials into vehicles in preparation for installations

? Safely drive company vehicles to various locations within the UK, strictly adhering to speed limits and the Highway Code

? Liaise with customers throughout the installation cycle, explaining what the installation will involve and ensuring expectations are met and/or exceeded

? Set up machinery and materials on site safely and correctly

? Removal of any existing insulation material, where necessary

? Drill to specified drill patterns, where required

? Safe and effective installation of blown materials into building voids on both domestic and commercial sites using machinery provided

? Carry out quality checks throughout installation and on completion of each job

? Completion of job report forms and submissions of form to the office

? Ensure all sites remain clean, tidy, and free from obstructions at all times

Additional Health & Safety Duties:



? Strictly adhere to all Health and Safety procedures, as per the Company's Health & Safety policy and procedures

? Safely carry out moderate-heavy lifting, as required

? Take reasonable precautions and maintain a high standard of health and safety awareness at all times

? Notify the Operations Director of any health and safety concerns or accidents immediately

Supplementary Duties:



? Ensure a consistently high-quality standard of work and customer service

? Prior to use, ensure Company vehicles are fit for use by conducting daily vehicle checks

? Submit regular vehicle check forms to the Operations Director

? Make the Operations Director aware of any vehicle defects or issues as soon as they arise

? Ensure that stock is checked and counted on a regular basis and send stock information to the Business Support Services team for recording

? Receive, reconcile, and store new stock deliveries

? Undertake applicable training as and when required

? Represent the company professionally at all times

Any other ad hoc duties as and when required by the Company
