The post will be based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, working across the Hospital but based on the Hyperacute Stroke Unit (HASU) on Ward 6.
The post involves working as a Stroke Nurse Practitioner where you will be required to triage, assess and organise the care of suspected Stroke and TIA patients. You will work in partnership with the Stroke Consultant, Resident Doctors, Physicians Associate and other Stroke Nurse Practitioners.

Promote development of evidence based practice with stroke management.
Work within multidisciplinary/interagency working.
Assist with TIA clinics and nurse- led stroke review clinics for patient and their carers.
Work within allocated resources.
Participate in the delivery of multidisciplinary education and training programmes for stroke.
Provide knowledge and expertise to support nursing staff, therapists, students and junior doctors.
Participate in research and audit.
Participate in ongoing development of services for people with stroke.

Provide skilled and knowledgeable care to patients with stroke and their carers.
Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of direct care to patients with stroke.
Work in an interdisciplinary manner with all members of the interdisciplinary team, and external agencies to provide a high-quality service for patients from stroke disease, and their carers.
Promoting the development of high-quality stroke services within Stroke Northumbria.
