We are recruiting a motivated individual who is seeking secure long-term employment as a trainee Fish Fryer within a busy and well established fish & chip shop.
The successful candidate will learn and develop new skills within the business from the ground up and will over time have plenty of opportunities for promotion to take on further responsibilities whilst they train under an already well established and experienced group of Fryers.
Prior to beginning Fryer training, duties would include; learning how to provide a high level of customer service i.e. taking orders from customers, cashing orders up and serving food to customers etc.; learning how to maintain high standards of hygiene and food handling i.e. cleaning work surfaces, washing dishes, rotating restocked food/drink items etc.; learning how to prepare for the opening and closing of the shop i.e. peeling/chipping potatoes, re-stocking fresh/frozen foods, cleaning equipment and following waste management procedures.
It would welcomed but it is not necessary for applicants to have a background within commercial kitchens but the successful applicant must be capable of listening to others and following instructions and must be able to work as part of a team. This position is primarily being offered on a full-time basis however there is scope for part-time roles if there is flexibility to work week days, evenings & weekends.
A competitive rate of pay to the industry standard will be offered to the successful applicant and will take into consideration any current skills and relevant experience. Similarly, as skills and experience develop within the job role, the rate of pay will be revised to reflect increased responsibilities as training progresses.
As outlined, kitchen experience is not essential however any references from previous employment, training or education would be preferred.
