Salary:

The starting salary is 45,131, which includes allowances totalling 2,928.


The salary is broken down as 42,203 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale 47,668. Plus, a location allowance of 1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of 1,000.

We're seeking an IT professional with training expertise to join the Technology Pillar at Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters. You'll be responsible for creating and delivering bespoke training programmes for over 100 staff members working in the Customer Service Centre (CSC), as well as providing flexible, cross-functional support to ensure staff can confidently use key systems, tools, and platforms. This will be achieved both independently and in collaboration with technical subject matter experts.

Key responsibilities:



Collaborate with stakeholders (Technology Pillar Support Teams, CSC, project, testers, developers, business, national/regional training function) to understand their technical training requirements and the technology to be implemented. Assist with the development of technical and non-technical learning strategies for projects outlining plans, resources, deliverables, assumptions and risks. Assist the CSC Training Manager and CSC Senior Training Officer in conducting technical training needs analyses, skills gap analyses, and produce training delivery strategy, training evaluations documentation and lessons learned conclusions. Adhere to the Technology Pillar Training Team's strategy and engagement processes. Represent the team at meetings and Working Groups, when required, to report on progress, obtain sign off of documentation and confirm decisions and deliverables. Provide updates to the CSC Training Manager and CSC Senior Training Officer on progress, risks, issues and successes. Design and develop bespoke training courses (to national CTP standards), including lesson plans, exercise workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, support guides etc. (independently and/or in collaboration with subject matter experts). Schedule and deliver training, where required, to agreed technical support staff/end user groups using classroom, one-to-one, coaching, remote training etc. in accordance with approved training approach. Responsible for the programme supervision, discipline and welfare of students whilst they are on the course and to provide the necessary support and encouragement required for them and their mentors in the workplace. Shared responsibility with other training team colleagues to keep Technology Pillar training records and skills matrix up to date and identify and submit bi-annual and ad-hoc external training requirements for the department. Any other activities that contribute to the successful delivery of technical training in the CTPHQ Technology Pillar.

Job Summary




The Training Officer role will report to and work closely with the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) Technology Pillar Customer Service Centre (CSC) Training Manager (Band M) and Senior Training Officer (Band I). The primary focus of this role will be to plan, design prepare, facilitate, coordinate and deliver a range of comprehensive learning and development technical and service support programmes specific to 100+ staff in the CSC (whether that be independently and/or in collaboration with technical subject matter experts or external training providers).


This role is also required to provide interoperable support (when required) to colleagues in the CTPHQ Technology Pillar Training Team focusing on detailed end user ICT training packages.


This role is not responsible for the line management of any staff.

Vetting




This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.


This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.

Recent experience of delivering technical and non-technical training courses/programmes including development of associated training materials. Experience of working on multiple priorities simultaneously. Delivering blended and inclusive learning to various end-user groups. Process driven individual with experience of producing process flows and instructional guidance documentation. Evidence of attending and contributing at local, regional or national meetings / working groups.

Desirables



Holds a current, valid, nationally recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training). Hold an ITIL Foundation Qualification Experience of Agile and DevSecOps ways of working. Extensive experience of Microsoft Office 365. CTP background.
