Job Title: Training Specialist (Systems Support Engineer).

Location(s): Based at HMNB Clyde \xe2\x80\x93 Faslane with travel to various Selborne Sites in the UK. With WFH opportunities.

Summary of Role: The role of Training Specialist Systems Support Engineer is to provide Operational maintenance support to training systems. Maintaining software integrity, back-ups, files purging, including fault reporting and IT support services which are delivered to contract requirements according to strict quality standards, deadlines and within budget while maintaining high levels of safety and customer satisfaction.

Main Duties:

  • Provide I.T support (1st, 2nd and 3rd Line) to ensure calls are managed in line with agreed SLA/ KPI
  • Update and maintain a register of IT assets.
  • Provide user support to ensure the effective and timely resolution of technical problems.
  • Document solutions to problems regarding standard IT applications and record them appropriately.
  • Undertake the day-to-day operation of the network including the backup systems.
  • Manage and Deliver software deployment as instructed/requested.
  • Build PC, Server Systems in line with contract and customer need.
  • Monitor system alerts and reports.
  • Contribute to the proper installation, maintenance, and disposal of IT Equipment.
  • Liaison with contractors and suppliers of I.T equipment.
  • Provide IT support services ensuring all services are delivered to contract requirements.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential:
  • Eligible to work in the UK and must possess (or be able to obtain) SC level security clearance.
  • An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.
  • Previous experience of fault finding, diagnosing repairing, and maintaining IT Systems.
  • Previous experience of successfully delivering projects and change.
  • Qualified academically or vocationally in relevant IT subject matter.
  • Excellent working experience of Windows based products such as Server 2019, Windows 10, Office 2019, including the deployment and through life support.
  • Experience of backup and antivirus solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of Domain Controllers, Active Directory, and group policies.
  • Experience of network infrastructure including switches, cabling, TCP/IP etc.
  • Risk management.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience of applying IT principles practically in the Royal Navy training establishments.
  • A clear understanding of the Accreditation and SCIDA processes.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience of deploying and maintaining bespoke I.T products.
