Job Overview


We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Admin Assistant to support our Transport and office operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and prior transport experience. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, providing vital support to ensure the smooth functioning of our Transport Department.

Duties



Works with the Transport Manager in carrying out the following duties:

Overseeing the efficient running of day-to-day operations of the transport department. Providing administrative support to the Transport Manager and transport team Planning, scheduling, and updating daily collection routes Preparing collection/delivery paperwork and transport documentation Liaising with drivers regarding routes, collection instructions, and day-to-day issues Communicating with customers to confirm collection times and resolve queries Monitoring delivery progress and updating internal systems accordingly Handling PODs (proof of delivery) and filing transport records accurately Managing transport-related emails and phone calls Supporting general office administration tasks as required Responsible for ensuring there is proper communication between the transport department and the rest of the organisation Ensuring the department is adequately always staffed and staffs are efficiently deployed. Ensuring company compliance with all transport policies, maintenance, legislation and procedures to do with tachographs. Managing, monitoring and developing a team of drivers Ensuring suppliers, clients have collections on time and there is a clear and workable process to cover unforeseen mishaps - missed collections. Developing and nurturing customer relationships. Providing drivers full debriefs and including tacho analysis. Identifying operational issues, potential problems, and opportunities and acting on them immediately. Resolving and managing escalated queries and complaints courteously and efficiently. Appraising staff performance and also taking disciplinary action when required. Enforcing all relevant H&S regulations.

Experience



Previous experience in a transport/logistics role (essential) Strong organisational and time-management skills Good attention to detail and accuracy Confident communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) A proactive and flexible approach to work Ability to work well as part of a team and independently

Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays) 8-5pm (overtime during busiest periods)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 24,000.00 per year
