Job Description

At Asap Cargo we specialise in freight logistics and have offices in the UK and Ireland working with industrial, retail and corporate clients nationwide delivering bespoke international freight management solutions.

Our service is built on global experience and hands-on execution, from collection, storage, delivery, warehousing and onward distribution. We are looking for a transport office administrator to complement our team based in Millbrook, Larne.

In house training will be provided and you will be required to start off being the essential support to the transport manager and other operators in the team, in terms of booking on jobs and adhoc administrative duties.

You'll also be responsible for monitoring and keeping a keen eye on what's going on, to provide real-time tracking of freight movements and ensuring timely delivery. This line of work also involves keeping your clients informed throughout the whole process and reporting back to them at each and every stage.

Duties will include;

Manage within the customer service team our inbox bookings and queries, providing prompt and professional support. Booking jobs on our internal freight system and also external supplier systems. Liaising with suppliers, drivers and customers. Pricing jobs Liaise internally with other departments to ensure a high level of service and timely delivery of shipments. Completion of administrative documentation on completion of jobs such as ensuring Proof of Delivery Notes are sent to our customers and invoices are sent.
Ideal Candidate will have:

Proven experience as a customer service administrator or in a similar client-facing role, preferably in freight or logistics. Strong understanding of freight and the logistics industry.
Understandably, your communication skills need to be second- to- none. We will also be looking for an applicant that can demonstrate a talent for solving problems, attention to detail and an ability to thrive under pressure.

Computer literacy is essential to this position, and we do prefer candidates to have had experience in a similar role and a flexible, adaptable approach to their work.

Experience in a logistics related software is preferred but not essential as in-house training will be provided.

Hours

Monday to Friday - 8.45am-5.15pm
