Furniture Warehouse is a rapidly expanding furniture retailer with 8 stores across the East Midlands, specialising in high quality, low cost furniture and accessories for every room in the home.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport & Driver Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations or our deliveries. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to analyse information effectively. It's a hands on role - so the successful candidate will be expected to get stuck in to the day-to-day work of the wider Transport team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Transport & Driver Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing delivery drivers and vehicles. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work early mornings, from 0500.

Duties

Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo efficiently, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely and cost effective deliveries. Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, drivers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.

Experience

Familiarity with logistics processes is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with team members and clients.
