Aim Building and Maintenance Services LTD is a well-established construction and maintenance company. We are seeking an experienced
Transport & Logistics Manager
to take ownership of our large vehicle fleet, manage deliveries to jobs for our Contracts Managers, and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day transport and logistics operations. This is a key role in keeping our projects on time, efficient, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies to sites, working closely with Contracts Managers.
Oversee the company's vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained, serviced, and compliant with legal requirements.
Lead, support, and manage delivery drivers, ensuring high standards of safety, professionalism, and performance.
Use telematics systems to monitor driver behaviour, optimise routes, and improve operational efficiency.
Implement driver training, licence checks, and accident/incident reporting procedures.
Manage relationships with leasing companies, insurers, and service providers.
Track and report on KPIs related to fleet performance, driver compliance, and delivery efficiency.
Work with senior management to control transport costs and improve operational workflows.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in transport/fleet management or logistics, ideally within construction, maintenance, or a related sector.
Strong understanding of compliance requirements for vans and light commercial vehicles.
Experience using telematics systems to manage fleet performance and efficiency.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of drivers.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to plan and prioritise multiple deliveries/projects.
CPC qualification desirable but not essential (training support available for the right candidate).
