Transport Night Supervisor

, you'll guide the night shift, create consistency across teams, and ensure our transport operation runs

smoothly, safely and efficiently

.



Working closely with our Transport FLMs and shift teams, you'll play a

critical role

in keeping our operation reliable, compliant and performance?driven.





Shift Pattern: Embrace the flexibility of a 4 on 4 off rotational shift pattern 18:00 - 06:00

What you'll be responsible for

Every night is fast paced, people focused and varied. You'll complete essential operational and compliance tasks accurately and on time, act as the key escalation point for drivers and departments, and bring strong leadership presence to influence the night shift in a positive and productive way.

Health & Safety

Champion a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety, hygiene and quality standards. Drive continuous safety improvements and proactive hazard reporting.

Cost

Support efficient administration processes that streamline night operations. Help minimize the risk of incorrect customer charges or credits. Through effective labour planning ensure costs are controlled

Quality

Ensure all operational information is accurate and processed on time. Positively challenge and validate basket usage data.

Service

Address service-related issues promptly, escalating and communicating as required. Maintain excellent office housekeeping standards. Ensure drivers are processed efficiently and accurately to keep operations running.

People

Build strong relationships across on?site teams to encourage cross?functional working. Show confidence in challenging existing processes and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Make sound decisions while maintaining legal and safety compliance.

React quickly to operational challenges

Develop and maintain standardization for all night operations.

Work with Coordinators to embed standardized processes, through training and support.

Oversee on?site Shunters effectively.

Maintain key operational spreadsheets.

File delivery notes, agency paperwork and other documents.

Distribute relevant pre-brief documentation to drivers

Conduct driver pre briefings and debriefings.

Allocate driver keys and paperwork.

Ensure trip sheets and agency sheets are always available.

Perform delivery route administrative tasks.

Complete all audits, checks and inspections.

Provide clear and accurate shift handovers.

Deliver general administrative support to the operation as required.

Ensure legal compliance checks are complete including driver gate checks, missing mileage and infringement review and completion.




Flexibility is key! This role requires a proactive attitude and the ability to support tasks aligned with the broader purpose of the role. Collaboration and adaptability are essential to meeting business needs.

The Right Person

--------------------


Strong understanding of transport legal compliance (CPC ideal but not essential). Previous supervisory or management experience. Background in a fast?paced transport or logistics environment. Confident PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with scheduling system experience. Good numeracy and literacy. Flexibility to cover Coordinator holidays through shift movement.
