Mackenzie Transport Services is expanding, and we're looking for a motivated Transport Planner & Administrator to support our operations as our workload and customer base continue to grow. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for keeping transport operations running smoothly and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
Plan daily vehicle routes efficiently using UK road knowledge and sensible journey scheduling.
Liaise with drivers--providing clear instructions, support, and fair guidance.
Ensure all operations comply with transport regulations, including driver hours, WTD, and vehicle checks.
Assist with compliance administration, including maintaining records, scheduling inspections, and monitoring tachograph data.
Deal confidently with customers, managing bookings, enquiries, and updates in a professional manner.
Coordinate with the wider team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Support with general office administration and documentation.
(Advantageous) Assist with HIAB-related planning or enquiries.

Good knowledge of UK geography and route planning.
Understanding of transport rules and regulations.
Confident using basic IT systems (email, spreadsheets, transport planning software).
Previous experience in transport, logistics, planning, or admin (preferred but not essential).
HIAB knowledge (advantageous but not required).
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a busy environment.
Professional telephone manner and customer-facing communication skills.
