Job Purpose:



Reporting to the Operations Manager / Director, the successful candidate will be a reliable and organised Transport Planner with proven previous transport planning experience, assisting in the daily operations of our transportation department and ensuring that planning of our trucks is completed efficiently and accurately. The successful candidate will be highly organised, have excellent UK geographical knowledge and excellent communication skills both written and verbally.

Key Responsibilities:



Coordination of the transport operation, including routing and scheduling, keeping up to date with deliveries and monitoring driver performance, in accordance with Working Time Directive and EU Driver's Hours rules.

Accurately coordinate the transport operation to ensure that all deliveries made on time and in a cost-effective manner.

Key point of contact for both customers and drivers.

Ensuring drivers hand in correctly completed and signed paperwork in a timely fashion.

Communicating with drivers, sub-contractors, customers, farmers and departments within Mid Hants to ensure the smooth operation of transport and sales. Responding to customer enquiries and providing updates on load status.

Handling general office duties such as answering phones, inputting tickets, taking orders, greeting visitors and maintaining office supplies.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Resolve transport related issues promptly and professionally.

Skills and Qualifications:



Previous experience working in a transport / logistics environment preferred but not essential.

Previous experience using Mandata software preferred but not essential.

Knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements preferred but not essential.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbally and ability to work effectively on own and as part of a team.

High level of attention to detail, organisation and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise work.

Valid driving license and own transport.

Working Conditions:



The successful candidate will be required to work at our Head Office in Hook and occasionally at our Quarry office in Fawley (travel expenses will be paid) . The role may require the individual to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the business.
