Located within Portsmouth International Port with direct access to the national motorway network, we're the first choice for customers looking for an efficient and cost-effective cargo handling and stevedore service. Fresh produce is our core business, from pineapples, sweet potatoes, and citrus to tomatoes, not to mention the majority of bananas eaten in the UK.
Portico have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional individual to join Portico Logistics as a Transport Planner. The purpose of the role is to plan and coordinate the utilisation of the fleet to ensure that all deliveries are made according to customer requirements. Part of a team of 3 Planners, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring all factors relating to driving hours and health and safety regulations, and to be the main point of contact for all Portico Logistics drivers.
The successful candidate will ideally have a background in the transportation of both temperature and time sensitive, containerised short shelf-life products.

Qualifications:
CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) or C+E Driving Licence would be beneficial but not essential.
Competencies:
People management skills
Ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of Transport/Driver legislation
Excellent use of IT, including excel and word.
Exceptional Communication skills
Commercial awareness
Decision making
Background:
Experience of logistics management / planning preferable in a port or related environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 34,000.00-38,250.00 per year
