Transport Planner

Job Description

To create an efficient, profitable, and compliant daily transport plan while managing fleet resources to consistently meet business requirements and ensure customer satisfaction, becoming an integral part of a dynamic team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review, allocate and schedule jobs for the fleet to maximise operational and logistical performance.

Regularly liaise with drivers throughout the day to ensure adequate vehicle resources are available and that safe vehicle operations are maintained. Review and support the optimisation of fleet resources and operations to improve profitability. Assist the Transport Manager with transport activities, including implementing road transport compliance policies, standards, and procedures. Managed a team of drivers in line with company policies and procedures, including, where necessary, assisting with disciplinary matters. Communicate with internal stakeholders and external customers to resolve all customer service queries. Ensure that all queries within the transport operation are dealt with promptly and by agreed service level agreements. Coordinate with fleet workshops (internal and external) to maintain vehicle defects raised by drivers. Input job requests were raised accurately via telephone and email. Fleet Compliance and coordinate the investigation of all road transport accidents. Liaise with the Health and Safety team and coordinate the investigation of all personal injury accidents and risk assessments of operations and customer sites. Ensure the compliance team issues all relevant toolboxes and talks to the drivers according to the company policy.

About you:



Essentials:



Strong organisational and planning skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent people management skills Able to prioritise workload and work under pressure. Good geographic knowledge of London and the South East. Proficient with Google sheets, docs and Gmail. Complete understanding of driver hours and driving regulations. Previous experience in a planning role in a busy transport office environment. Experience in dealing with internal and external customers and service providers. GCSE grade A-C level education

Desirable:



HGV Licence Complete understanding of the London Lorry Control, ULEZ and Congestion zone rules and regulations CPC

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 32,000.00-45,000.00 per year
