We are looking for a full time

Transport Resource Co-Ordinator

to join our busy team at our Wakefield site.



Principle Responsibilities include:

Undertake effective management of transport costs. Take responsibility for Health and Safety legislation compliance for the function Ensure that exceptional levels of customer service are delivered throughout the function. Manage contractor relationships.

Duties Include:

Undertake effective management of transport costs.



Understand subcontractor's terms and conditions to ensure mutual productivity. Ensure all additional costs are communicated and agreed at the time; minimising the potential for future recovery queries. Provide regular reporting of all costs and progress against targets. Work closely with Group Transport Manager to ensure the best and most cost effective resource is used to deliver an exceptional service. Extract and validate weekly spends per supplier, understanding the costs attributed and agreeing a weekly figure Monitor any potential overspends, challenge and feedback any anomalies

Support the Head of HSEQ & Compliance with the roll out of the HSEQ, compliance and wellbeing strategy across logistics. Promote best practice across the function, including ensuring the team remain up to date on HSEQ & Compliance policies and procedures. Look for continuous improvement as well as scheduling audits, monitoring progress and investigating all known accidents, incidents and near misses Deal with any policy or procedure breaches appropriately, using the disciplinary policy where necessary.

Ensure that exceptional levels of customer service are delivered throughout the function



Consistently work in a way that delivers exceptional customer service, in line with SLA's. Deal with complaints as necessary. Escalate complaints as necessary. Ensure the complaint is logged on every occasion. Build strong relationships with internal and external customers. Take feedback from customers and act upon it, constantly striving for improvements within the function. Ensure feedback is learned from and work in a way that supports continuous improvement Create relationships with new customers with the view that drives efficiency and a revenue Consider ways to identify lost opportunities or lapsed customers

Manage contractor relationships.



Liaise with subcontractors and site operations teams to execute network plan. Assist the Group Transport Manager with subcontractor performance reviews, attending review meetings where necessary and support improvement plans. Support tender processes to identify preferred supplier list. Manage supplier relationships and performance against SLAs. Manage bulk sub-contractor allocations. Select the most cost-effective option in all circumstances. Work with the Head of Logistics & Group Contracts and Procurement Manager to lead on tender processes to identify a preferred supplier list. Seek out new suppliers to ensure coverage nationally for transport movements Collate the weekly detail, hold and evidence on Zahara and issue a PO number consistent with the dataset. Reconcile the invoice upon receipt

Skills/ Experience:



Proven experience in a transport environment Knowledge of transport compliance but not essential Understanding of UK transport routes and connectivity Experience in data entry and processing. * Excellent attention to detail..
