As our Banbury site continue to grow since re-opening after Covid, we have a great opportunity to head up the Transport Team.
The successful candidate will be working closely with both the production team and drivers on site, ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, to deliver excellence in customer service and the delivery of a quality and cost effective transport operation.
The role will report to the Regional Transport Manager for Workwear and will have a dotted line in to the Site Manager. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Your new role:
Conducting regular performance reviews, as well as dealing with day- to- day operations, including liaising with our customers either face to face or via phone/email;
Carrying out daily driver de-briefs and ensuring any non-compliance is reported;
Managing driver risk profile and identifying and supporting driver training needs;
Accident investigation and management;
Driver CPC training;
Licence checking and ensuring drivers and vehicles are legally compliant;
Supporting the Site Director to ensure KPI's and budgetary targets are met;
Ensuring driver and vehicle compliance in terms of WTD regulations, planned maintenance and inspections.
What do I need to apply?
We are looking for candidates who have real ambition and are eager to progress as our plans for growth continue.
To be considered for the role, you will need previous experience of leading a fast-paced transport team, including the ability to engage and motivate your team, routing and scheduling of both vehicles and drivers and ensuring driver training and assessment is carried out. You will have the confidence to escalate any issues that may arise, will be customer focused, have the ability to remain calm under pressure and flexible to meet the demands of the role.
It is desirable that you hold a valid Class 2 (CAT C) licence (if not, you are prepared to upskill; the cost of which will be met by the business). An excellent understanding of transport compliance, such as working time directive and vehicle maintenance is essential. You will need eligibility to work in the UK.
