Transport Team Leader

to support our busy operation.

Role Overview



As a Transport Team Leader, you'll work closely with the Transport Supervisor to guide and support our driver team. You'll help make sure our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with MHRA, GDP, and Operator Licence requirements. This role is all about strong leadership, good communication, and keeping the operation running smoothly day in, day out.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure all transport activities meet

GDP principles

and internal SOPs. Support drivers in carrying out the safe handling and delivery of pharmaceutical products from goods receipt through to final delivery. Work within MHRA and company regulatory requirements to protect product integrity, including cold-chain rules. Help maintain full compliance of both vehicles and drivers with legal, regulatory, and internal standards. Promote a strong safety-first culture and lead by example in all aspects of the operation. Motivate and guide drivers to achieve required service levels, including accuracy and on-time delivery. Carry out daily driver debriefs, resolving issues promptly and ensuring feedback is communicated effectively. Build positive working relationships with internal teams and customers, representing Mawdsleys in a professional manner. Assist with driver scheduling, holiday management, absence monitoring, and adherence to company policies. Support ongoing improvements in compliance, performance, and efficiency across the department. Contribute to wider business projects and continuous improvement activities.
