An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Traveline Coordinator to join our Passenger Transport team at Hampshire County Council.
The Role:
The provision of quality public transport information is embedded within the Hampshire Bus Strategy and essential for achieving our vision of doubling the number of bus passenger journeys made in Hampshire by the end of 2034/35.
Based within the Passenger Transport Team, your role will be to work with local bus operators to ensure accurate and timely data is shared and to ensure all timetable data is input into the National Public Transport Information (Traveline South West) on behalf of the Hampshire Consortium members to provide the traveling public with reliable journey planning information.
What you'll do:
Working closely with contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders, you will be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to team working as well as the ability to work on their own.
To be responsible for the preparation, monitoring and supply of data in accordance with the NPTI update Protocol and the requirements of the DfT through Transport Direct. This is to include timetable preparation, links with driver and vehicle allocations, stop details, unique referencing (NaPTAN and SMS) and the supply of route related information.
To be responsible for organising the verification of the data supplied to Traveline South West and Bus Open Data Service (BODS).
To work closely with the Information Systems Officer regarding stop names or locations, as required and assist when required with the maintenance of their stop datasets in line with DfT requirements.
To collate and enter travel disruption information via the Incident Capture System (ICS) or Event Management System modules as required.
To be responsible for the preparation, monitoring and input of data supplied into the DIVA system. This includes timetable preparation, links with driver and vehicle allocations, stop details, unique referencing (NaPTAN and Short Message Service) and the supply of route related information.
What we're looking for:
We are seekin a highly organised and proavtive individual with a proven backgroud in administration and data handling as well as a basic understanding of the transport industry.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills both written and verbal, and be capable of managing multiple projects effectively and efficiently. They will have excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
