We are currently recruiting for a Treasury Accounts Assistant to join our expanding accounts team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in accounts and the motor trade and be working towards the AAT Qualification (or equivalent). As a Treasury Accounts Assistant at Hippo Motor Group, you will play a vital role in supporting both the finance and operations departments. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of accounting tasks, as well as operational duties crucial to our business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Management:
Monitor daily cash balances across multiple bank accounts and ensure funds are available for payments.
Reporting:
Support the preparation of financial reports, including treasury activity such as daily cash flash reports, funder utilisation and headroom.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining organized and accurate records of all cash and bank transactions and processing within the accounting systems.
Payment Processing:
Preparing and processing payment runs, electronic transfers, direct debits runs, refunds, cheques, and other payment methods to ensure timely payment to vendors and customers.
Reconciliations:
Reconcile general ledger accounts related to treasury activities, ensuring accuracy, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Month-End:
Assisting with month-end closing procedures and providing supporting documentation for audits.
Cash-flow Forecasts:
Assist with maintaining records to support cash-flow forecasts to manage liquidity.
Compliance:
Ensuring all treasury activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Ad Hoc Finance Tasks:
Perform other ad hoc duties as required to support the accounts team and assist with other financial tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
Computer skills, i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets and accounting software.
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Numerically proficient, with ability to perform calculations and understand financial data.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
