Salary:
13,061 per annum (26,475 pro rata, plus 7% pension contribution if eligible)
Hours:
18.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting at 9:30 am each morning

You will provide initial assessments and support to individuals arriving at the Chapman Centre, who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The role involves evaluating the immediate needs of service users and connecting them with appropriate services and resources within the hub and the wider community.
You will:
refer service users to appropriate internal and external services such as housing support, medical care, mental health services and substance misuse
assist service users in navigating the systems and overcoming barriers to accessing help
maintain accurate and confidential records of all service user interactions and interventions
work closely with other hub staff and volunteers to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment
report directly to the Advocacy Services Manager.
You will need:
experience of working with complex populations, particularly individuals experiencing homelessness, and working with a wide range of professionals/third parties
the ability to find creative ways to engage with people, and to build relationships with agencies and colleagues
experience in the use of case management systems and Microsoft-based systems, including Outlook, Excel, and Office 365
proven ability to conduct assessments and develop support plans.

The Advocacy Team provide a daily point of human contact, and support people with the huge range of practical and emotional issues they can face if they are currently homeless, or at risk of losing their home. The Chapman Centre is a homelessness hub for social interaction, practical support and advice.
