Role Overview


Reporting to the Process Engineer, play a key role in the wiring of tube frames used for housing the X-ray tube. Prepare associated PCB assemblies for fitting and assist with integrating the X-ray tube into the tube frame. Provide support to the tube assembly and test team as required.
Responsibilities:
Wiring of tube frame used to house the X-ray tube Mounting PCBs to support covers Assisting with fitting of X-ray tube into tube frame along with fitting PCB assemblies and wiring Fault finding and rectifying tube frame wiring issues Raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for faulty items Support tube assembly and test team as required - this may include fitting of lead plates and other small mechanical assemblies, fitting of PCBs Organising and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment Accurate and consistent recording of data Provide an on-going contribution to the development/improvement of the above processes and safe working practices


Key Skills:

Self-discipline to ensure maintenance of best possible working practices in working environment. Great attention to detail and fastidiousness is required to maintain the highest standards of component and wiring loom preparation with full traceability. The ability to follow (and not deviate from) defined processes in work instructions and checklists. Ability to work closely with others and contribute as a member of the team. Good communication skills

Essential:

Previous experience wiring up electrical components and preparing/fitting of wiring looms. Previous experience working as an electro / mechanical technician (or similar) in a hi-tech environment. Familiarity with safe working practices and ensuring that others adhere to practices.


Experience in the following would be an advantage but is not essential:Working in accordance with ESD control best practices Working in accordance with a Quality system Working in accordance with COSHH regulations 5S, 6 Sigma Practices

Qualifications:
Working in a hi-tech manufacturing or research environment * Technical qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline (or engineering/manufacturing experience in technical role/s)
