MagiKats Maths and English workshops in Alloa encourages school children to achieve their full potential in Maths and English. Key to the success of this is the workshop structure which offers the best of both worlds, small study groups and one to one contact in a friendly and relaxed context. Learning is both formal and informal using a range of different resources which makes learning fun with minimal work taken home, which allows each child the opportunity to practice and build on skills already gained.

We are currently seeking to recruit a suitable Mentor to lead the study groups, helping children work through pre-prepared work at various levels.

The most important skill for this post is an ability to relate and communicate well with children of all ages, and make learning fun. Secure maths and English skills at the appropriate level are essential. Full training is given. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with good Nat 5 maths and English although this is not essential for consideration.

Especially, but not exclusively, suitable for teaching or learning assistants / senior pupils. Wage rate, according to experience. Working all year round, not just term time. Minimum commitment 6 months but permanent preferred.

Sessions last approx 1hr - 2hrs 30 mins and are after school.
