We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Tutor specialising in Fabrication and Welding to inspire and guide apprentices through their technical education journey. In this role, you will deliver engaging workshop and classroom instruction in a supportive learning environment that encourages skill development and confidence for learners at different levels. Your expertise will empower apprentices to achieve their welding certification goals and prepare for successful careers in their trades. You will be a time served Fabricator Welder and hold Level 3 or above in a relevant engineering qualification together with a suitable teaching qualification. You will join a small, supportive trade team where your specific skillset will complement existing expertise so you must be a team player and an effective communicator. You must be genuinely looking to switch to a real and worthwhile career in technical training for industry and willing to work towards achieving a relevant teaching and assessor qualification which will be fully funded.
Experience of platforms such as OneFile and Canvas is desirable, as are good IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
Experience
Experience in delivering Level 2 and Level 3 in your chosen discipline and Level 3 and above in an engineering discipline.
Proven experience in welding, including hands-on practice with various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick)
Develop lesson plans that incorporate practical hands-on training with theoretical knowledge tailored to learners' different skill levels
Deliver engaging lessons using various instructional methods to enhance understanding
Assess learner progress regularly through practical demonstrations and written evaluations
Knowledge of classroom management strategies to create a safe and productive learning environment
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts and foster learner engagement.
Provide individualised support and tutoring to learners needing extra assistance in welding techniques or theory
Collaborate within your trade team to improve instructional materials, incorporate new methods of teaching and align with industry standards
Maintain accurate records of apprentice progress.
There is also scope for the successful candidate to become suitably qualified to carry out Internal Quality Assurance activities to ensure learner portfolios are maintained to the required standard for awarding bodies.
