Role responsibilities
To support the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience and behaviour management within Ormston School
Work with members of the Education team to support young people's personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning
To promote positive learning behaviour with young people
To lead classes during PPA and absence cover
To deliver an enrichment activity
To support in lessons with academic understanding or pastoral, emotional or behavioural need
To respond to immediate concerns clarifying the situation
To create and collate information relating to lessons and interventions delivered
To assist in the preparation of information relevant to the meetings about pupils
To be an advocate for the ethos of Ormston School
To lead on Intervention which includes Reading and Phonics - reviewing progress made by young people
To develop the role of Pupil Voice Liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council
To develop relationships with parents/carers, taking an active role in transitions and consultation visits
Requirements
Have a strong basic education, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
Previous experience in a similar role i.e., HLTA, Cover Supervisor
Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH/Autism within an educational setting
Experience of behaviour management and techniques
Committed to professional development and willing to learn
Must be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, cost of which will be met by Ormston School.
