Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Twi Language Interpreter to provide accurate linguistic support between Twi and English speakers. The ideal candidate will facilitate clear communication in various settings, ensuring that cultural nuances and technical terminology are preserved.

Key Responsibilities



Oral Interpretation:

Provide high-quality consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between Twi and English during meetings, interviews, or consultations.

Written Translation:

Accurately translate documents, emails, or reports from Twi to English and vice versa, maintaining the original tone and intent.

Cultural Mediation:

Act as a cultural bridge to help both parties understand context beyond just the spoken word.

Confidentiality:

Maintain strict professional ethics and data privacy standards regarding all sensitive information handled during assignments.

Terminology Management:

Research and stay updated on industry-specific terms (legal, medical, or corporate) in both languages.

Required Skills & Qualifications



Bilingual Fluency:

Near-native proficiency in both Twi and English (written and spoken).

Clarity of Speech:

Excellent enunciation and the ability to convey complex ideas simply in both languages.

Active Listening:

Strong ability to process information quickly and recall details accurately under pressure.

Professionalism:

Punctual, reliable, and able to remain neutral and objective during difficult conversations.

Preferred Experience (Plus Points)



Previous Experience:

Prior work in a formal interpreting or translation role.

Certification:

A recognized interpreting qualification or certification (e.g., CIOL, ITI, or equivalent).

Specialized Knowledge:

Familiarity with medical, legal, or social service terminology.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 per week

Work Location: On the road
