Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tyre Technician to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles from cars and vans to HGVs and small plant. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills to ensure customer satisfaction and safety. The position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional environment.

Duties

Remove and replace tyres using hand tools and power tools efficiently and safely Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and proper tread depth, recommending replacements when necessary Balance tyres to ensure smooth vehicle operation Perform Tyre repairs and other tyre maintenance tasks as required Assist customers by providing advice on tyre selection and maintenance options Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards Conduct routine maintenance on tyre fitting equipment to ensure optimal performance Assist with inventory management by tracking stock levels of tyres and related parts

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in tyre fitting or automotive maintenance preferred Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment effectively Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual labour involved in tyre installation and removal Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude towards clients Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures is advantageous Prior experience with wheel balancing and tyre husbandry is desirable but not essential Flexibility to work during standard business hours; reliability is essential
